What information I collect

If you contact me through this website, by email or by phone, I may collect:

  • Your name

  • Email address

  • Telephone number

  • Any information you choose to include in your enquiry

If you become a counselling client, I will also collect the information necessary to provide a safe and ethical counselling service.

Why I collect your information

I use your personal information to:

  • Respond to your enquiry

  • Arrange and provide counselling sessions

  • Meet my professional, legal and ethical responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate records where required

I only collect information that is necessary for these purposes.

How your information is stored

Your personal information is stored securely and is only accessible to me. I take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data from unauthorised access, loss or misuse.

How long I keep your information

Enquiries that do not lead to counselling are normally deleted within 3 months.

Client records are retained in line with professional guidance and legal requirements, typically for 5 years after counselling ends, after which they are securely destroyed.

Sharing your information

Your information will be treated as confidential and will not be shared with third parties unless:

  • You have given your consent; and

  • I am legally required to do so; or

  • There is a serious safeguarding concern where disclosure is necessary to protect you or someone else.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Request access to the personal information I hold about you;

  • Ask for inaccurate information to be corrected;

  • Request that your information is deleted where appropriate;

  • Object to or restrict certain types of processing; and

  • Lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
